We stayed here for one night after flying in to JFK. The hotel was about a 4 block walk from the subway station. It's not a walk I would want to make a night I don't think, but during the day it was fine. The hotel was modern, clean, comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

We wanted to find an inexpensive hotel close to our son's apartment in Park Slope for four days over Christmas. Despite the mixed reviews we decided to try this one and were very pleasantly surprised. It was cheaper than the Park Slope Holiday Inn, but only a few blocks away. The staff were very friendly the room was always clean, the towels and linen fresh. The area immediately around the hotel is blue collar businesses like a glass repair and plumbing supplies, but we felt perfectly safe. The modest breakfast buffet was a good way to start the day. There were no problems with the elevator. The wi-fi was weak on the 6th floor, but there was an ethernet cable, so no problem. Parking was limited, but convenient a few steps behind the building at $* a night. There is no fittness center, restaurant, etc. but hey, you're in NY, you should expect to get your exercise walking to restaurants. I'd stay again.

Poorly managed, housekeeping varied from very spotty to non-existant, with room either not cleaned or several service items missing. Management not able to make it right. Parking VERY limited. Located in an industrial section of Brooklyn, which though probably safe, is very unattractive. Advertised as in Park Slope and near the Brooklyn Bridge, it is neither. We will not be staying here again.

I called for directions, but they didn't inform me that they didn't have any more rooms! When I got there, they said no more rooms because of "room damage". That's bad enough, but I didn't even stay there and they still wanted to charge me!! If it weren't for Travel online's action on my behalf, I would've gotten stiffed. The worst hotel experience I've ever had.

  • Excellent hotel for the budget, hygine & safety conscience

This hotel is in an industrial neighborhood. If you choose to use the subway system, you can save a lot of money but you must not be afraid of people who look different than you! The neighborhood is mixed ethnicity, Hispanic, Black, Muslim, Caucasian. My 13-year-old daughter and I rode the subway everywhere, even home from the theatre district at 11:30 PM. She was a bit nervous the first time; once she experienced a safe trip she was fine. We had absolutely no problems from anyone. Car service cost $26 not including trip to Penn Station. A cab would be slightly more, so if you are afraid of the subways (you shouldn't be with all the police and safety systems in place), this is not the hotel for you. You will spend more in cab fare than if you stayed at a more expensive hotel in Manhattan. The staff was wonderful. The "continental" breakfast was a veritable smorgesbord, including waffles, hard boiled eggs, cereal and yogurt! Room was clean, including no mold in bathroom! The neighborhood was quiet because it is industrial, mostly auto repair shops that don't operate at night. My only negative comment is barely negative . . . The name "Comfort Inn Brooklyn Bridge" is a misnomer. It is nowhere near the Brooklyn Bridge. Please note, it made no difference to us!
