This is a good hotel for the price, and subway(east New York ave)convenience to manhattan...the A & L train is conveniently 2 blocks away that usually takes you 20 mins to Manhattan. As for food...when you exit the hotel make a left turn then walk against the traffic on the Atlantic ave service road, there is a Diner and reataurant(sit and dine) about 3 blocks at Georgia ave that makes delivery all day to the Hotel. It doesn't take too long to get accustom to the noise of the L train that runs next to the hotel. For the price it is very convenient stay if you wanna get to the City and back by Train. The rooms are very small, but clean and contemporary with the amenities of flat screen TV with cable channels. I will stay there again whenever I am in NYC!

I was there this weekend. This hotel is tolerable if you want to save a few dollars in the severly overpriced NY market. I read the reviiews before making my reservation so I anticipated the poor location and the noise from the elevated train. To sleep at night I found it helpful to plug my ears with wet toilet paper. Don't laugh! It really worked. The rooms were small but managable for two people (we had a double). Big screen TV was nice. Complimentary breakfast seemed satsifactory with make your own waffles, eggs, bacon, bagels, cereal.... However, I would not stay again if I could get a reasonable rate elsewhere. My brother and his wife had another room, and they complained of the smell of urine when they turned on the heater. Mgmt said this was because the room was vented to the back alley. So they chose to go without heat. The hotel is two years old and still in good condition. Housekeeping could use quality control as there was stray hair on the bed and sheets had black marks on them. (again having read the reviews we brought a set of sheets just in case, and we did use them.) Very poor location for a hotel. Anyone unfamiliar to the area would feel unsafe walking in the area afterdark. There are no amenities within walking distance. We toughed it out for one night. It was a memorable stay, but not for good reasons. But in the Brooklyn market I think this is par for the course, unless you can get a decent rate at Marriott downtown Brooklyn.

The Hotel is only 2 blocks from the ""A"" Subway which makes it great to get to almost any desired locations. The neighborhood was a bit visually unfriendly. We had no problem walking from the subway to the hotel, but never felt like we wanted to go out and walk around because it looked so industrial. The only thing you might want to be aware of is that the train runs just accross the street. Our room was as close to the street and therefore the train as possible. Initially we were concerned about the noise, but we were so tired that we didn't notice. If noise bothers you and keeps you from sleeping you probably don't want to stay here.

We stayed at this hotel while we tried to to find an apartment in NYC. NOT A GOOD IDEA. they aren't kidding when they say they are close to the subway; it literally is above your head and sounds ALL NIGHT LONG, so...bring ear plugs if you want to sleep. The neighborhood is pretty much bare except for some abandoned buildings and loitering groups of people (which makes it pretty intimidating for a walk to/from after dark), which is a big downfall because there is pretty much NO WHERE to eat except for a subway and a McDonalds. The only pleasant thing was the breakfast attendant. She was extremely friendly.

I stayed at this hotel through a last-minute deal through Travelocity. The main complaint about this hotel is that is in a horrible location. There are no restaurants, convenient stores, shopping, etc? The hotel is located next to a train station and you can hear the trains all night long. In order to get to the subway you must walk down dark, scary streets full of graffiti. I talked with other residents of the hotel and they agreed that the location felt unsafe. Another complaint about the hotel is that the rooms are not soundproof and you can hear doors slamming and people coming in and out of the hotel. People late at night are loud in the lobby and the front desk. I would not recommend this hotel for traveling women or young families.
